Abstract
Decentralized systems and the Internet of Things (IoT) have gained significant traction in recent years. With the rise of technologies like Bitcoin and the widespread adoption of IoT devices, itโs clear that both have cemented their place in modern society. Our diploma thesis aimed to combine these two technologies by designing a lightweight Blockchain capable of efficiently handling transactions between low-power IoT devices. This system, the Decentralized Autonomous Traffic System (DATS), simulates a real-world traffic environment where cars and infrastructure are treated as IoT devices and nodes on a Blockchain network.
Technologies Used
To realize DATS, we utilized a variety of modern technologies:
- Docker for containerization
- Flask for backend development
- React for creating a user-friendly frontend interface
- Blockchain technology for managing secure and efficient transactions between devices
Conclusion
DATS showcases the potential of Blockchain in IoT environments, particularly within autonomous traffic systems. By leveraging these technologies, we developed a scalable and efficient solution that can be applied in real-world traffic simulations.
